“Real” companies blogging
Seth points us to a post on why it makes good sense for “real” (i.e. non-tech
) companies to blog:
“Needless to say, I chose to go whale watching with Quoddy Link Marine, not because they had a blog, but because of what the blog revealed to me about the company and its staff, something a typical corporate Website is not usually very good at.”
Aside altogether from the googlejuice it generates, a blog really communicates a company’s philosophy and raison d’etre better than any other media.
Speaking of which, if you’re interested in learning more about blogs and how they work, (and you live in/near Cork) why not check out Tom Raftery’s Blogging Training Series for IT@Cork. The 5 week evening course begins on September 25 and will be held in the National Software Centre, Mahon.
